Interesting story, I always like a historical novel where you get to know the characters as real people. When you read the bible, it is hard to think of these people and what their actions and conversations were. All through the ages, people are still the same no matter what century and it makes them seem more real.

I can't put it down!

What a wonderful look into life in the 1st century through the eye's of the men whom the Book of Acts was written about. This book is not scripture, doesn't claim to be and should be be taken that way. However I challenge anyone to read this book and then go back and re-read the Book of Acts. It will literally come alive for you!

Paul became real to me

Until I began this outstanding book series Paul was just another church figure to me. This book blessed me with a heartfelt comprehension of Paul's travels, teachings and sufferings. As with all of his books I've read to date, Gene Edwards did a wonderful job in expanding my faith to include not just book knowledge but a never-to-be-forgotten glimpse into the story behind the story.

The content is entertaining. The writing is horrendous. Needs a professional proofreader.

If you've read "The Game" by Neil Strauss, you might be tempted to read this because of the title. Let me assure you, This is as much "Beyond the Game" as Olive Garden is "Beyond Italian".

The story is entertaining, yes. I've met both Aukeyto and Arash in person and have taken bootcamps. Both men are super cool, down to earth and very knowledgeable. With that said, this review is about this BOOK and it's quality -- any rational person should be able to understand that this review is an objective analysis of this book and not the temperament of the author(s).

I contacted Aukeyto personally to tell him the same thing, but he refused to listen and took my criticism personally (how Ironic, for someone who's adamant about not taking things personally) and insulted me. Which is fine, so here is my criticism on Amazon, accessible to a global audience instead.

The content of the book is entertaining, but the writing is BEYOND POOR. There is zero cohesion and the entire book is rife with elementary grammatical errors EVERYWHERE. It is clear that Mr. Mosley didn't even hire a competent proofreader/copy editor before putting his name on a book and releasing it to the world. My head was spinning throughout the entire book from the grammar problems.

I can barely get myself to call this a book.

In deciding whether or not to buy this book, I compared it to all the things I would otherwise spend my money on such as a 24 pack of delicious craft beers. I decided buying a book would be healthier for my mind and that, at worst, I would have a valuable piece of work to put on my shelf next to my other books. Boy was I wrong.

This book is absolute trash. For $25 you get a book the length of an ambitious blog post (you could finish reading it in between reading other, better books, for example). I tried but literally could not get myself to finish. As a previous reviewer stated, the writing is horrendous: "This happened...and then I went here...and then I talked to this girl....and then I went there....and then I did this..." That is what the entire book reads like. No structure, no build-up, no vision, no conception of what makes good writing.

Sprinkled in there are little nuggets of wisdom by Arash (Aukeyto's teacher), and they are somewhat insightful, but there are few and far between. Every once in a while you get some useful tips (e.g. keeping a shopping bag in your car so that you can game at the mall; smiling when you talk to friends so that girls know that you're emotionally healthy) but, again, the value is so sparse in this book it's maddening. I wouldn't even consider putting this book on the same shelf as my other books so as to not offend my other books.

Ultimately, I decided to return this book and write a review as a fair warning to all potential buyers. It takes a certain type of person to find this content intriguing (even acceptable), and frankly I am insulted that this even exists as a product.

One man's real quest to get better with women

If you have read books like, "The Game" or "8 Ball", you think that picking up women is easy.

WRONG

It takes a lot of interactions and sorting out which Aukeyto shows. It also shows his journey with his mentor Arash. He has a regular day job and does pickup in his off-time unlike most of the pickup books out there. It's a slow process, but he shows you that he can make it work. No really crazy party stories though, was hoping for that. In the end, he does get girls, but the sex scene is anticlimatic and has no juicy details. He talks about the other seduction coaches but doesn't give too much of an opinion of them. I was hoping for more drama and excitement which is why I didn't give 5 stars. I do hope Aukeyto continues writing as he has potential and comes out with a part 2 when he gains more knowledge and skills as he is a rising star.

That being said, this book is a good read if you want to get better with women, see how a pickup bootcamp works, and see how pickup/self improvement can possibly change your life for better in the long run. Everyone's journey in game/life is different and this is just one take of it.

About the Author
Phillip E. Jones, aka Big Dog, was born in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1971. He is a father of two sons. After retiring from the Navy, Phillip now makes his home in Utah. His first book, "Crystal Moon, World of Grayham" was endorsed by Richard Hatch (Apollo, Battlestar Gallactica)and has received rave reviews. In 2007, Phillip awoke from the nightmare which inspired the series, "Worlds of the Crystal Moon." Since that day, he has grabbed the attention of Sci/Fi Fantasy readers across the nation. The Worlds of the Crystal Moon is slated to be a series of six novels, with the third book due out on December 1st 2011.

I bought this book for my son for Christmas. It took me a bit to figure out it is the third book in the series since other books have had their names changed. Didn't make a difference to my son. He read and read. I don't think he put the book down until it was finished!

About the Author
With over three decades of seminal reporting from the political and social frontlines of a changing India, Shekhar Gupta's byline is today synonymous with unparalleled credibility, independence and influence. His work includes some of the most significant investigations in contemporary journalism in the region: from Indira Gandhi's Operation Blue Star to the disastrous Indian intervention in Sri Lanka, from tracking Pakistan's politics and military to the first Afghan jihad and its effect in Kashmir. A recipient of the Padma Bhushan in 2009, India's third highest civilian honour, Gupta is Editor-in-Chief of The Indian Express newspaper. Under his leadership, The Indian Express has thrice won the Vienna-based International Press Institute's Award for Excellence in Journalism. He joined the newspaper as a reporter in 1977 and then spent a decade in India Today as a reporter and editor. A regular speaker at the World Economic Forum in Davos and its India summits, Gupta is the author of Assam: A Valley Divided (1984) and a monograph, 'India Redefines Its Role' (1995), for the International Institute for Strategic Studies, London, where he is a member of the Council. This book is A MUST READ for all of us. It gives such clarity to the reader about our politicians and their parties.
Very astute in his observations about mistakes made by political units (esp the congress) and their likely fallout. Its amazing that most of his observations now have come true.

Excellent Read!

An excellent book for readers interested in Indian Politics! Shekhar has very eloquently put across the rules of the game in Indian Politics and Governance with an unbiased and rational assessment of its successes and flaws. I really liked how instead of focussing on simply the negatives, the book highlights so many unknown and remarkable people in India's Political, Bureaucratic as well as Public domains who have had the vision, foresight and spine to have built remarkable institutions in difficult circumstances for which we are so proud today. Thank you Shekhar! Jai Hind!

Easy pickup

I have always liked Shekhar Gupta's columns mostly published in the Indian Express newspaper. I like them for the simplicity and lucidity of his style. But importantly, the issues raised are what concern, indeed, anxiously concern the more ordinary literate middle class reading public. The issues are discussed with an assured modicum of balance and openness even though one may not agree with some of his opinions or thesis. Also, some subjects deserve greater researched consideration. However, to have such a collection in one place offers a variety of easy readings.

Homogenization is a method for modeling processes in microinhomogeneous media, which are encountered in radiophysics, filtration theory, rheology, elasticity theory, and other domains of mechanics, physics, and technology. These processes are described by PDEs with rapidly oscillating coefficients or boundary value problems in domains with complex microstructure. From the technical point of view, given the complexity of these processes, the best techniques to solve a wide variety of problems involve constructing appropriate macroscopic (homogenized) models.

The present monograph is a comprehensive study of homogenized problems, based on the asymptotic analysis of boundary value problems as the characteristic scales of the microstructure decrease to zero. The work focuses on the construction of nonstandard models: non-local models, multicomponent models, and models with memory.

Along with complete proofs of all main results, numerous examples of typical structures of microinhomogeneous media with their corresponding homogenized models are provided. Graduate students, applied mathematicians, physicists, and engineers will benefit from this monograph, which may be used in the classroom or as a comprehensive reference text.
